Welcome to SCERF. My name is Liz Smith, and I am an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. As such, I work with attorneys (because I am one also and understand your unique needs) to be healthier, which hopefully will lead to more energy, less stress, and increased happiness (because why else bother, right?). The name “SCERF” stands for Self-care, Career, Exercise, Relationships, and Food. While food is important to our health, I believe that these other core areas must also be strong in order to truly be healthy, and to live a happy and fulfilling life. Therefore, I work with clients on what to eat, but we also may dive in and address some other areas of their lives.

A Personal Plan for Lasting Change.

Most of my work is one on one, where I will meet with you individually to discuss your short and long term goals. Together, we will break down bigger, long-term goals into small manageable goals. Most approaches to healthy eating dwell on calories, carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. Instead of creating lists of restrictions and good and bad foods, I will work with you to implement gradual changes during our work together and I will focus on what to add in to your diet, not what to cut out. As small, manageable changes accumulate, it sets you up for longer lasting change. Additionally, because we work one on one, our work will be uniquely tailored to you.

In addition to healthy eating, I work with clients on physical movement goals and other healthy habits. All aspects of our lives are connected. For example, it may be poor or too little sleep that is the cause of your body holding onto fat, rather than what you are consuming. Or it could be a toxic relationship that is leading to your emotional eating.
